The applicant may be eligible to apply for permanent residence through the Caring for Children Pathway if he has a minimum of two years (within the past four years) of full-time work experience (at least 30 hours of paid work per week) in Canada as a home child care provider for children under the age of 18, with a valid work permit.

The applicant’s work history must meet the description in the Canadian National Occupational Classification (NOC) Group 4411 as a home child care provider. The candidate will also have to prove his minimum benchmark of language ability for either English or French. Also the candidate needs to prove that either he has completed Canadian post-secondary education credential of at least one year or or equivalent foreign credential.
